beached

Aunt Suzanne came for a visit in October.
We decided to go for a stroll along the beach after some unusually high tides

and saw a baby humpback whale
(it had been there for a while and was bloated and decaying)

and hundreds of jellyfish that had been washed up.
George picked some of them up with sticks and sent them back to sea.
These sled dogs were getting in some pre-season practice
while a curious coyote and eagles were watching from the cliffs above.
It was an eventful nature walk.

  2. Sometimes on our walks this summer we'd see "beached" snails after rain storms. Yours is much cooler. That Alaska is one extraordinary place.
